Find the capital and small-letter snacks that belong to each hungry monster.

A good starting pointFor children beginning to connect familiar capital letters with their lowercase partners. Age is a guide; choose tasks by readiness.
A and a can look quite different while representing the same letter. Each monster shows the pair your child is looking for, then offers a mix of matching snacks and other letters.
Circle directly on the page for a short matching activity, or use prepared loose cards for repeated feeding play. The full alphabet is included, but a few familiar letter pairs make a better starting point than trying to finish A–Z in one sitting.

How to use this activity
Name both forms
Point to the uppercase and lowercase letter on the monster. Say that both are the same letter, even when their shapes differ.
Search the snacks
Find all matching uppercase and lowercase snacks. Circle each match and leave the other three letter snacks unmarked.
Count and trace
Colour a counting circle for each matching snack. Check that six have been found, then trace the capital and small-letter pair.
Try loose-card feeding
A grown-up can cut the whole snack cards for another session. Offer a card, decide whether it belongs to the monster and move the matches towards the illustration.
Make it fit your child
A gentler start
Start with letter pairs your child already recognises. Offer two cards at a time and point back to the model as often as needed.
Ready for another step?
Mix a few prepared cards from two familiar letter pages and sort them between the two monsters, explaining each choice.

Printing and using the pages
Download the PDF, open it in a PDF viewer and choose A4 paper at 100% or “actual size”. Print only the pages you want to use. Check the preview before printing; keep colour cues visible when a selected task depends on them.
Regular paper works for the worksheets. For reusable loose cards, light card can be easier to handle if your printer supports it. Keep any cutout pieces at the printed scale so they fit their mat. A grown-up should handle preparation and cutting.

Good to know
A couple of questions
Is cutting a hole in the monster required?
No. The monster stays intact. Circle matches or place loose snack cards nearby.
Is this a reading-word pack?
Its main focus is letter-form matching and tracing. Move to a CVC pack when common letter sounds and blending are becoming familiar.
