A real peek inside your free PDF.

A good starting pointFor children familiar with uppercase letters, with support for writing and alphabet order. Age is a guide; choose tasks by readiness.

This alphabet practice pack gives each capital letter its own page. Finding and tracing sit beside missing-letter rows, before-and-after questions and ordering tasks, so recognition is connected to the alphabet sequence.

Use the focus pages for guided practice. The title and models deliberately help your child; the later mixed pages offer a chance to remember without the same clues. A chart and optional paper selector provide support when writing or recall is still developing.

What’s inside the PDF

  • Twenty-six letter focus pages, each with six short tasks.
  • Four mixed missing-letter review pages and an alphabet chart.
  • An optional answer-selector mat and printable A–Z strip.
  • A practice guide and two answer pages: 36 A4 pages in total.

Try it together

How to use this activity

  1. Begin with a known letter

Say the target letter's name and find all its matches. Compare each choice with the large model before circling.

  2. Try the writing tasks

Trace the examples, then attempt the independent spaces. Choose just a few tasks if pencil control is tiring.

  3. Use the alphabet sequence

Say a short part of the alphabet to fill a gap or find the neighbour of a letter. Keep the chart nearby instead of requiring unsupported recall.

  4. Return with mixed practice

After several focus pages, try a mixed page. For the optional selector, a grown-up joins the strip's cells without gaps or overlaps and prepares the mat.

Make it fit your child

A gentler start

Choose finding and tracing only. Let your child point to the missing letter on the chart while you write it.

Ready for another step?

Cover the chart for a familiar mixed row, then uncover it to check. Ask your child to explain how the letters in an ordering task belong together.

Paper, pencil, ready

Printing and using the pages

Download the PDF, open it in a PDF viewer and choose A4 paper at 100% or “actual size”. Print only the pages you want to use. Check the preview before printing; keep colour cues visible when a selected task depends on them.

Regular paper works for the worksheets. For reusable loose cards, light card can be easier to handle if your printer supports it. Keep any cutout pieces at the printed scale so they fit their mat. A grown-up should handle preparation and cutting.

These original BundleBrain pages are free for personal and classroom use. Share a link to this activity page so other families can find the instructions and download their own copy. Please do not resell or re-upload the PDF.

Good to know

A couple of questions

Does this teach lowercase letter formation?

This pack focuses on capital letters. Feed the Letter Monsters is a separate option for matching capitals to lowercase partners.

Do we need the paper answer selector?

No. All main practice works with a pencil. The selector offers another way to show an answer.
