A real peek inside your free PDF.

A good starting pointFor shared picture talk and matching. A grown-up reads the short sentences. Age is a guide; choose tasks by readiness.

A small book gives each fruit its own moment. Children name and colour the picture, find another picture of the same fruit and listen to a short repeated sentence read by a grown-up.

This is a shared reading and making activity for children who may not yet read independently. The fruit names provide vocabulary to talk about; the picture choices give a practical way to participate before writing is comfortable.

What’s inside the PDF

  • Eight mini-book pages arranged two per A4 sheet across four sheets.

Try it together

How to use this activity

  1. Make the little book

Print the four book sheets at actual size. A grown-up cuts the middle guides, stacks the mini-pages in numbered order and staples the left edge. Keep the guide separate.

  2. Talk about one fruit

Point to its picture, say the name and ask whether your child has seen or tasted it. Read the short 'I see...' sentence together.

  3. Find a matching picture

Look at the choices below the fruit. Ask your child to point to or circle the same fruit, then colour the main picture.

  4. Add a personal ending

On the last mini-page, invite your child to draw a favourite fruit in the bowl. Read the book back together and let them turn the pages.

Make it fit your child

A gentler start

Use one loose mini-page at a time and ask your child to point to the match. Assemble the book after colouring if the stapled format gets in the way.

Ready for another step?

Let your child retell the pages from the pictures or describe a fruit using its shape, colour or texture. Supply the printed words as needed.

Paper, pencil, ready

Printing and using the pages

Download the PDF, open it in a PDF viewer and choose A4 paper at 100% or “actual size”. Print only the pages you want to use. Check the preview before printing; keep colour cues visible when a selected task depends on them.

Regular paper works for the worksheets. For reusable loose cards, light card can be easier to handle if your printer supports it. Keep any cutout pieces at the printed scale so they fit their mat. A grown-up should handle preparation and cutting.

These original BundleBrain pages are free for personal and classroom use. Share a link to this activity page so other families can find the instructions and download their own copy. Please do not resell or re-upload the PDF.

Good to know

A couple of questions

Is independent reading required?

No. The grown-up reads the sentences. Picture naming, pointing and matching are enough to take part.

Is this a fold-only booklet?

No. The supplied layout uses two mini-pages per A4 sheet. A grown-up cuts them apart and fastens the ordered stack.
